Matt & Pete

Matt S.

Matt is a Marine combat veteran, former fire captain, and strength coach who found healing through movement and service. After facing the challenges of PTSD, Operator Syndrome, and a severe nerve injury, he founded Operation Antifragile, a nonprofit dedicated to filling the critical gap in care for veterans and first responders.

Through Operation Antifragile, Matt delivers remote coaching, care packages, and holistic wellness resources to those who serve. The organization supports individuals with strength and conditioning, mobility, breathwork, nutrition, and peer support—meeting people where they are, whether they’re recovering from trauma or rebuilding after injury.

The motto, "Find the balance in your training. Become Antifragile," is one Matt lives by daily. For him, strength is about more than barbell numbers, it’s showing up when it’s hard, checking in on your brothers, and rebuilding lives one rep, one breath, one care package at a time.

Operation Antifragile has helped people move again after feeling hopeless. It has stood in the gap when no one else would and they’re just getting started.

Matt would be honored to represent the Lift Heavy Be Kind mindset, because to him, it’s not just a phrase, it’s what saved his life. And now, it’s how he serves others.

Pete S.

Had to give a quick shoutout to our guy Pete, who just took first in his class at the Brattleboro Strongman comp this weekend!

The events were no joke; Fingal’s Fingers, Hercules Hold, and a Yoke Carry that would’ve folded most of us. Pete showed up and absolutely handled it.

We’re fired up for him. He’s been putting in the work, showing up with a good attitude, and staying humble the whole way through. Strong in every sense.

Let’s keep hyping each other up.
Lift heavy. Be kind. Compete hard. Repeat.
